About

Thanks for visiting my little blog. Captured by Pam is a blog dedicated to my photos. I have challenged myself to taking at least one picture a day and posting it to my blog. I hope to take better and more creative photos with this challenge. Any comments are welcomed!

I am a mom, a wife, and a working professional in San Diego, California. My journey as a photographer started with my first job out of college. I graduated from University of California, Riverside with a major in finance and a minor in economics, only to take photos of jewelry for a living. I always knew I wanted to do something artistic, learning Photoshop in high school and taking design classes at UCLA extension, but I was too practical (probably from my parents’ influences) to ever pursue a career in the arts. My passion and my career would be two very different things, something I had grown to accept a few years into the real world. I continued my business career by getting a Masters in Accounting a few years later from San Diego State University.

In the fall of 2011, I gave birth to my first baby and as any mother will tell you, it was a life-changing experience. I have been fortunate enough to take an extended leave from my career as an accountant and have had time to pursue my passion and exercise my creativity.

I have found that I love taking pictures of babies and families because I can see love through my lens. When I am able to capture that look that I find so endearing on my baby’s face, it comforts me because I know how quickly children grow and I now have something to support my (sometimes) poor memory. I know the time and love I’ve poured in my photographs will result in memories I will treasure for years to come.
